Oatmeal Brown Sugar Cookies

1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup Butter, softened
1 Egg
2 cups uncooked quick-cooking or old-fashioned Oats
1-1/2 cups Flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 cup candy-coated Milk Chocolate pieces

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Combine brown sugar, butter and egg in large
bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Reduce
speed to low; add all remaining cookie ingredients. Beat until well
mixed. Stir in chocolate pieces by hand.
Drop dough by tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie
sheets.
Bake for 10 to 14 minutes or until light golden brown on edges. Let stand
1 minute; remove to cooling racks with a spatula. Cool completely.
Yield: 3-1/2 dozen cookies
