Cream together; 3/4 cup shortening 1 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup mollasses 1 egg Mix together; 2-1/4 cup flour 2 tsp. soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. cloves Stir into molasses mixture.
