Onion Rolls or Breadsticks

Onion Rolls or Breadsticks
Oaks B & B

Makes 49 rolls or breadsticks, 70 Calories per serving

5 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup dried onion flakes
2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
2 Tbsp bakers yeast
1 cup warm water
1 Tbsp honey
1 1/2 cup warm water
2 Tbsp black strap molasses
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
2 Tbsp poppy, chia or sesame seeds

Place flour in a bowl and heat in a 350 oven to heat through. Combine
onion flakes and soy sauce, mix well and set aside. Combine yeast, 1 cup
warm water and honey in food processor and set aside to allow the yeast to
activate. Combine 1 1/2 cup warm water and molasses and add to yeast
mixture with the warmed flour and onion mixture. Process to mix well,
then run processor until the dough forms a ball. Flour a bread board with
the extra 1/4 cup flour and turn dough out on board. Knead until enough
flour is absorbed so that dough is not sticky and can be handled. Pat
dough out with hands, sprinkle with seeds and divide into 40 pieces,
forming rolls or breadsticks as desired. Place on a nonstick sprayed
cookie sheet in a warm spot to rise. When rolls have almost doubled in
size, bake at 350 for 30 minutes to brown. Serve to delighted guests and
family.

NOTE: Try making half of this recipe into a loaf and the other half
into 20 rolls or breadsticks. Roll them in poppy seeds and grated
Parmesan cheese... This makes them super special!!
