Default Banana Turnovers

Banana Turnovers

Yield: 8

4 cups unsifted flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 1/3 cup shortening
1/3 cup cold water
4 bananas
8 Tablespoons raisins
8 teaspoons sunflower seeds

In a large bowl mix together flour and salt. Cut in shortening until
mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle with water and mix lightly with a
fork. Divide into 8 balls. Roll out each ball, on a lightly floured board,
into an 8 inch square. Peel bananas, cut into slices and place 1/2 sliced
banana on half of each square or dough. Add 1 Tablespoon raisins and 1
teaspoon sunflower seeds to each square. Fold far end of dough over
filling, to form a triangle. Seal edges. Place on an ungreased baking
sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from baking sheet
and cool slightly.
