Hi Patches,
Thanks for your offer to help me with canning. I was raised on a farm where we grew and preserved all of our own food, so have lots of experience. Now, 70+ years later, I'm just having fun doing the few things we really enjoy. A couple relishes and the occasional jam or jelly. The soup seemed like a nice change from freezing, and I'll probably do a few more things like that. I'll be watching the things you do..and this group... for some good ideas. jillie Roseville, CA |

You have a very young mind, and I mean that in the nicest way. -- Wayne Boatwright *¿* _____________________________ http://tinypic.com/eikz78.jpg Meet Mr. Bailey |

Thank you, kind sir...
Maybe my young mind has something to do with the senility I mentioned earlier. xoxo jillie Roseville, CA |

Well, I didn't believe it for a minute. :-) Hey, I'm 60 and I have "senior moments", but I've been having them since I was 30! -- Wayne Boatwright *¿* _____________________________ http://tinypic.com/eikz78.jpg Meet Mr. Bailey |

I'm still looking for a yellow plastic 1 cup measure I know must be around here somewhere. Last used it to measure 2 cups of frozen juneberries for a cake. After washing up it disappeared. I've looked everywhere, even out in the garage (where BTW I keep a spare pair of eye glasses in the glove compartment). -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm warning: non-FreeNet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |

I was looking for my glasses last week... for almost 2 hours... looked everywhere, several times, before I realized I was wearing 'em. B/ |

I lost my 1 cup measuring cup for 2 weeks! Looked everywhere - tore the kitchen apart. Started to get angry and was gonna start blaming everyone in the house for misplacing it. Then the other day I had to make another batch of muffins. I make a double batch about every 2 weeks for the kids. Found the measuring cup in the flour sack. And I'm only gonna be 41 next Tuesday.....;-( Kathi > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- > William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network > homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm > warning: non-FreeNet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |

> Darn Kathi, I've actually got shoes older than you. ROTLMAO Ah, but do you have any preserves older than she? You can't count shoes as preserves, even if they are leather. I've been plumbing my subconscious to find out what happened to the measuring cup. You lie still and concentrate on picturing the measuring cup in it's hiding place in your mind. It's peacefull and a lot less effort than looking. Nothing so far. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm warning: non-FreeNet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |

> I still think you should check were those berries were........... Thanks. The berries are kept in a plastic container in the freezer compartment of the 'fridge. I checked there before looking out in the garage, and check the container again every couple of days in case it turns up in there. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm warning: non-FreeNet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |

I've looked everywhere, even out in >the garage (where BTW I keep a spare pair of eye glasses in the glove >compartment). It's right next to the stainless steel one cup measure I misplaced last week. Tell me where that is and we'll both have our cups back! I did finally locate the baby food jar of extra salt I was using up. For some reason I put it in the basket where I keep my measuring cups. No, I've already checked the salt jar and the missing measuring cup is not there. Nor is it in the flour bin which is the last place I can recall using it moving flour from the collection cannister of my mill into the storage bin I keep in the fridge. I'm going to buy two more sets of measuring cups. Maybe I'll be able to lay hands on one of them when I need it. ......Alan. |
