Good to hear from you again Barb. This group doesn't get much traffic anymore. I don't garden anymore, due to bad back, can't bend over within falling down. I still do some of the canning from Anne's garden, very little anymore. Good crop of kumquats growing on the little tree so we might be doing something with those later this fall. Pear crop was pitiful, hard frost got them first, a second growth came in and are very small. We mostly makes jellies and jams anymore. Miz Anne is busy running the roads to teach folks how to draw and paint. Miss Tilly and I sit in the easy chair and I still read lots of library books and she gets in a lot of naps. She turned 10 in May and is very gray nowadays and sleeps a lot and keeps the neighbors cats out of our garden. I will be 78 on the 23rd of this month and feel every year of it. But still keep loving on the great grands, all six of them, four girls and two boys and one grand that hasn't dropped a kid yet. <G> Miz Anne still blows and goes for the art scene and her church "poor" garden that she runs and then it's our yard mowing and gardening that she keeps up too. We're looking forward to the kumquat crop later this fall and the making of kumquat jellies and jams. George, Miz Anne, and Tilly Dawg |
