Default And harvest begins

Put up 20 lbs of dill pickles, a dozen vac-sealed and blanched bags of
green beans, and have cooked down 7 gals of apples to about 4, with a
bit more reduction to go for apple butter.

We've allowed the neighbours to pick a lot of the apples, but I'll be
picking the top of the trees shortly, and we'll be making applesauce
and dehydrating the rest of the week...

Duck season opens in a week! Then geese, moose, deer... and elk. Let
sausage and jerky making season begin!

How much does a Canadian license cost to a Texan? <G>

I see white tail deer walking down the pipeline right of way behind our
house at night. Fire on shot and I'm in trouble. Been thinking about a
new bow with a night sight. Naw, I've never broken a game law and not
intending to at my age.

I've eaten all of those meats due to the largesse of friends who go off
into other states and hunt. Wild game is my favorite meat when I can get
it. Maybe I'll go squirrel hunting in the state forest soon. Take my
trusty single shot .22 rifle and see if I can get a limit of squirrels
for gumbo or stew or both.

Good luck with the hunting Dave, I envy the hunting but not the cold.
