Made bread and butter pickles today. Used Pickle Crisp in the jars
thanks to George's advice.

Yesterday I made peach butter with the worst peaches I've ever bought.
I don't know if they were cling-type or just very red but unripe, but
they did not peel well regardless of blanching and ice water bath, and
the flesh did not come away from the seed without using a knife to cut
it away. The final flavor is mediocre, making me wish I'd added some
peach liqueur. I guess for 68 cents a pound I should not have expected
much.

Luckily we're too far from the state fair to enter preserving items. ;-)
