Default Dilly Beans recipe?

A friend of mine is planning on trying some pickled
banana and jalapeno peppers this season. I mentioned
Dilly Beans to her, and she and her husband are both
interested in trying them.

Is the recipe for these in the BBB? If so, I can
lend her a copy or type it in and email it to her.

Otherwise, could someone please post the recipe?

Thanks!

Nyssa, who just scored the latest edition of the
BBB yesterday on sale

Thanks, George.

I've emailed her the link plus an offer of the
use of one of my BBB copies for more inspiration.

Now if I can keep the *&(@#! deer out of my green
beans long enough for 'em to actually grow into
some beans, maybe I can try the recipe for myself.

to can yet

I think we can get you some recipes for canned venison and also for
jerky and pemmican. Would that help?

LOL! Thanks for the thought. I think I've got some
recipes for venison in my old Farm Journal canning books,
but I think the county would object if I actually
tried to act on them.

Last year it was geese getting into my tomatoes,
and this year it's deer and moles in the beans. Out
of two rows of beans planted, the deer got half of
one and the moles got almost all of the other. I
managed to pick about a scant quart of beans this
morning that will become lunch. Not much to show
from a half-pound of seeds.

It's just been a bad gardening year all around so
far. I can only hope things improve and keep on
tryin'.

her garden

Check the table of contents of your copy for pickled beans.

There you go! Look in the book. If you or your friend is new to
preserving, check out the National Center for Home Food Preservation
(NCHFP) at www.uga.edu/nchfp. It's an excellent resource.

Or cash. :-)
