Using Port in Cocktails
Cocktails using port - especially Ruby and Tawny ports - are growing in popularity and will be trending even more for this upcoming Port Day, January 27. What's your favorite way to serve port? On the rocks? In a mulled cider? I personally enjoy this twist on a favorite cocktail, the Cosmopolitan. Cheers!
Sandeman Cosmo 1 oz. Sandeman Founders Reserve Porto 2 oz. Absolut Vodka .5 oz. Hiram Walker Triple Sec Splash of lime juice Splash of cranberry juice Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain and serve up in a chilled martini glass. |

Looking for more cocktail ideas using wine? We've had great luck using the sweet ZED Moscato Rose as a cocktial ingredient and this Cocktail Culture recipe is one to be desired!
The Red ZED (created by Jonathan Pogash) 1/2 oz. Absolut Vanilia Fill with chilled ZED Moscato Rose In a coupe, add Absolut Vanilia and fill with chilled ZED Mocato Rose. Drop in 2-3 cherry ice cubes**, sip and smile. **To make cherry ice cubes, simply place cherry juice into ice cube trays and freeze…that’s it! |
