Default How to mix drinks (and best receip for Strawberry SHortcake drink)

I am looking for a stout stawbery shortcake drink receipe for my
wife. SHe had one at TGI Fridays and loved it. Does anyone have the
reciepe?

Also, I did find a recipe that was 1 shot Amaretto, 1 part ice cream,
1 part strawberry Daiquri mix, 1 part ice topped with wipped cream/=.
Forgive my ignorance but what does (1 part) mean? I understand the one
shot amaretto as being one shot glass full but what about the "parts".

ANy help is appreciated!

The use of "part" in a recipe is just an easy way to make the recipe
work well regardless of what measurements you are used to. Here in
America we might use "Ounces", but elsewhere they might be more
comfortable with "centiliters", or "quadfarbs", and not know what an
"ounce" is.

By saying "part" you are simply providing the proper "ratio" for the
recipe without tying it down to a particular measure. If you see a
recipe that says "1 part Lemon Juice, 1 part Sugar, 2 parts Water" you
could make a small amount by using an "ounce" as the part, a larger
amount by using "cup", or an even larger amount by using "liter".

However...

In your case, you ended up with a poorly executed recipe. A recipe
should never mix the generic "parts", with even a semi-specific
measure like "shot". 1 shot of Amaretto is a fairly specific amount.
What if you were then to use "gallon" as the replacement for part?
This would clearly make a different drink then if you used
"Tablespoon" for part. So you have some right to be confused.

In this specific recipe I would perhaps suggest trying "1/2 cup" as
the replacement for "part". I expect you probably also left out the
"blend until smooth" instruction from this recipe.
