Freezer burn

I have started putting the ground beef I store in freezer bags into a card board box before freezing.

It seems to really slow freezer burn.

Is this news to anyone but me?

I don't know what kind of freezer you have (it makes a difference) but
if you really want to end freezer burn, wrap the meat tightly in freezer
*paper*. It looks like butcher paper, but it's coated with plastic on
one side.

I use vacuum sealed bags from the FoodSaver. NO freezer burn at any time.
Keeps meat amazingly good for very long periods of time and I've never had a
burn at all.
