Damsel's Italian Beef question
All the talk of Damsel's Italian Beef recipe has got me craving...and
thinking. The recipe calls for round roast. I have a chuck roast. I always do my chuck roasts in the crock pot so I know it will cook up okay. Has anyone done it with chuck? (HA! HA! Lucky chuck!) Is there something essential missing in a chuck roast that would mess with the recipe? I know I could just go buy a round roast and be done with it, but you know, i have the chuck and may as well use it. Thanks, chochachos! -- ..:Heather:. www.velvet-c.com I thought I was driving by Gettysburg once but it ends up I was just driving by your mom's house. |

You just won't wind up with large slices like you would with round. Maybe cook the chuck to shreds? That'd be good. Carol |

Damsel's Italian Beef question
I agree! I have a bottom round roast in the freezer that is "calling" out to
my crockpot! LOL We all love Italian Beef. Carol, do you ever add onion powder to it? Is there any particular reason why the recipe has garlic crushed and garlic powder? I will definitely be making this recipe as soon as my roast thaws. Debbie in Indiana > All the talk of Damsel's Italian Beef recipe has got me craving...and > thinking. |

Is there any particular reason >why the recipe has garlic crushed and garlic powder? No clue. A friend gave me a recipe that she had adapted from one of those little organization cookbooks, and I adapted it further. Both forms of garlic were present in the recipe I was given. Feel free to add or subtract anything you think would make it suit your personal tastes better. >I will definitely be making this recipe as soon as my roast thaws. Please let me know what you think!
