Default Ice cream with 3 kinds of liquor?

My wife's 78 yr old aunt would like to have some of 'Grandpa's Ice
Cream' one more time for an upcoming birthday. 'Grandpa' died 30
yrs ago & nobody has made his "Booze ice cream" since-- and nobody
wrote down the recipe.

Neither she nor her sister are drinkers, so they aren't real familiar
with what flavors each might add--- but one sister thinks it was rum,
sherry and ?? - and the other thinks it was rum, port & ??.

They sound redundant to me- and no one is sure about proportions. . .
.. "or was it rum or gin. . .?"

Googling for a couple days has yielded a million recipes with "rum or
sherry" or recipes with one of the 3 liquors - but nothing with 2, let
alone 3 liquors in it.

They don't think it was the Rum Raisin, probably not his Kahlua Ice
Cream- and nobody can remember the name of it-- it was just 'The booze
Ice Cream".

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jim

Eggnog ice cream recipe

6 eggs, separated
10 tablespoons sugar
pinch of salt
1/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup rum
2 tablespoons dry sherry
1 cup milk
2 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, freshly grated

Cook the egg yolks, sugar, salt, brandy, rum and sherry in a double boiler until very light and thickened. Remove from heat, add the milk and cream; cool. Beat the egg whites until stiff, fold them in the cream mixture. Pour into a ice cream machine and process according to manufacturer's directions.
Sprinkle with nutmeg before serving.

Thanks Carla-- I'll run this by them & see what they think. It has
all the liquors they came up with together.
[and thanks too, to Steve & Kilikini-- I'm thinking a batch of Grand
Marnier- and a batch of Kahlua- mixed softly after it comes out of the
machine.]

Bingo, kili! I don't use Amaretto, but Kahlua and Gran Marnier go
perfect together. I also don't mess around with diluting them into a
batch of homemade. I pour about a tablespoon of each over a scoop of
vanilla. Yum.

Kahlua is Mexican. You're thinking Kalua pig, which is a type of cooking
process, but it doesn't involve alcohol!

Ben & Jerry's used to make a Kahlua-amaretto ice cream, as well as one they
called "Kaffaretto," a blend of coffee, Kahlua, and amaretto. I never got
around to trying the Kahlua-amaretto ice cream, but the Kaffaretto was very
good; I was sad to see that the flavor was retired. They've also retired a
couple Cointreau blends, Chocolate Cointreau Fudge and Chocolate Cointreau
Orange (and the related Mandarin Chocolate).

It's kind of interesting to visit their web site to see flavors they *don't*
make anymo www.benjerry.com/our_products/flavor_graveyard/

We'll make it next week- but the sister who does the cooking says it
looks like the right proportions & sounds like the right booze.

Thanks again-
