Default Geez... I'm 49-years-old today!

Never knew how I'd live past twelve, back in the day.

So I've cast off the diet chains and all bets are off.

nancy,

Thanks!

I went to the local diner earlier and had the "mile high" stack (3) of
pancakes with three pats of butter and about 1/2 cup of maple syrup with
4 link sausages and 3 cups of caffienated coffee. I'm so belly-achin',
but there'll be room for a cheesesteak for lunch and a large part of a
medium pepperoni pizza for dinner and a rum 'n' coke or two or three to
close the menu and the day, if all goes according to plan.

Make it one-day only, my advice. I celebrated my birthday Monday, Tuesday
and Wednesday with a trip to Williamsburg, Jamestown and York (1 day each).
I stepped on the scale (digital) and had gained exactly 3 pounds.

Happy Birthday -- it's great to be alive and healthy. But you watch it!

Dee Dee,

I think I can do 3 pounds today! But tomorrow the diet chains will be
reattached... I promise!

From what he said he's planning to eat and drink, you'd be better off
saving for flowers. ;-)

Hope he makes it to the half century and beyond though! :-)

Heather,

I was planning on Six Flags Kunda-Kai roller-coaster but it's too much
travel. I'm just going to plant myself at the HawkWatch and count migrating
raptors with a bunch of other bird-brains.

Margaret,

Thank you.

I should've rephrased it to:

So I've cast off the diet chains and all bets are off, "for the day."

Between rec.food.cooking and alt.support.diet, I'm a masochist!!?

All the best,

And mine, too. Marcel and I received a last minute dinner invitation
to a neighborhood restaurant, Charz on East 86th Street and the first
toast of the evening was "To Andy on his 49th Birthday!" We were four
at the dinner table and we consumed two bottles of wine with several
mentions of "our" friend Andy's 49th birthday.

No matter what Barbara tells you, I seldom drink more than two glasses
of wine and last night I did. Therefore I join you in moaning "Oh, my
achin' head", but it sure was a nice dinner and a nice evening.

Back to the old routine and the old diet. (

Andy, you do not know me if you think that I would make up something
so stupid. Besides Marcel and me, there were the hosts, Dr. and Mrs.
Joe Rechtschaffen, in case you want to ask one of them. Everybody
raised his or her glass for the first toast and touched glasses and
everybody was happy to have an excuse to indulge in more than the
usual amount of wine. Really, it is a fact. I must add that I
promised to drink a toast in your honor before I was invited out and
thought I would drink the toast at home, but a promise is a promise
and it was fun.

Margaret,

It's just the event that took me by happy surprise. Folks who don't even
know me, toasting my b'day was a wondeful honor, to say the least!

Thank you,

Andy
