Got a bunch of Crackers Open face stuff

We have a lot of crackers and some Swedish flat bread about to be
ingested.

Sometimes it is a light spread of butter with egg salad and herring
with fish eggs or hard salami. Can be all at once or piece meal. Wešve
been known to add shrimp and or anchovy. Mustard herring and wine
vinegar types usually store bought then doctored.

Aquavit nearby.

Any thoughts for possible addition?

Dec 24 coming but Dec 21 may cause us to enjoy.

Butter or cream cheese with paper-thin slices of cucumber

Duxelles or sauteed chantrerelles if you're lucky enough to have some

Mashed sardines with finely chopped chives, lemon juice and a bit of mayo

If you have Aquavit nearby, smoked eel is a must.

Thanks for the replies. Eggplant has not been involved with our holiday
fare but this may change. The eel is usually served smoked in a sweet
sauce. Canned from Indonesia. This year I still have to connect with
our oriental food store folks this for Swedish Dec 24 party.

Found this and found it fun.
