Split pea soup. It is sleeting here and supposed to snow (eeek!) late this
afternoon. I'm making split pea soup... I seem to have lost your recipe.
All I can remember is the pepperoni. I have that. I have no ham hocks so
I'm browning slices of salt pork until crisp. I have onions, garlic... does
your recipe call for carrots? I have some "baby carrots" I bought for the
bird ;)

My recipe actually calls for a lot of carrots. Just toss some in
until it looks right. You can skip them altogether if you want to. I
know you're not a huge fan.

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1/4 pound bacon
1/2 pound pepperoni -- 1/2" cubes
5 medium carrots -- sliced 1/4" thick
1 medium onion -- chopped fine
1 clove garlic -- smashed and chopped
16 ounces split peas
5 cups water

become translucent, then add to the saucepan.

Place dry split peas into the saucepan, along with the water. Add
carrots, then stir in the herbs and spices.

Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to low. Cook, covered, for 45

Just for you I threw in 5 "baby" carrots. If Peaches runs out of carrot
snacks I'll blame you ;)
