Google Converts Recipe Measurements
I learned this from Cooking for Engineers - somebody commented.
Say you are trying to convert cups to teaspoons - just go to Google and type in your problem: 1/8 cup to teaspoons hit enter. It will tell you. (http://www.google.com in case you're utterly clueless) Or say you are in the USA and using a terrific recipe posted by one of our European posters. 400 grams to ounces (14.1095848 ounces) G'wan, try it! It will also convert between miles and kilometers, inches and meters, etc. It also converts currency, and you can just do basic calculations in it like a calculator (i.e. 5*37, hit enter) Kewl, huh? Now if it will only convert pan sizes for those of us trying to bake 1.5 recipes of brownies. Or convert a cheesecake recipe from a 10" pan to a 9" pan. Maybe if we were good at geometry we could plug in the numbers. I'll work on it. Meanwhile I have a crib sheet printed from an old post that gives me the answers. Leila |
