Hi all,

Looking to buy a yogurt maker, with a large container, instead of the
ones with smaller jars.

In researching I found two and the price points are so different. The
Salton is about 15 bucks and the Yogourmet around $60.

Does anyone have any experience with either or opinions on which would
be the best one to buy?

I would get a wide-mouth Thermos bottle (the old-fashioned glass-lined
kind) for about $3.

I have the Salton. It works fine and is easy to clean, dishwasher, of
course

I incubate it for 4-6 hr, then put the container in the refrigerator
overnight to slow the process down before draining.

I have the salton yogurt maker with the 5 smaller jars picked up at a
yard sale for $2. What I like about the smaller jars is I have a
pre-measured amount for cooking. For larger amounts, I would just use a
covered pot placed in a warm location.

I just use a covered pan(actually, a Revere ware 2 quart saucepan).
Leave (milk+culture) in a warm place for about 8-10 hours and
refrigerate after the yogurt has set well.
