These are pretty easy.

Take some ground beef. Put it in between plastic sheets, and roll it
out so that it's around 3/16" thick. Chill it in the freezer, and use
a pizza cutter to cut the squares (this is the time to punch the
holes, too, if you are a White Castle person more than a Krystal
person).

While the meat is chilling, mix up some dehydrated onions with some
warm water. Put a big glop of this mix in a hot skillet, and fry some
of the burgers on top.

Serve on the cheapest dinner rolls you can find.

A consultant that worked with me a few years ago said he worked at WC
in college. He says its cooked over a bed of hydrated dried onions,
so the burgers are actually steamed and not nearly as greasy as you
think they are. I love 'em, but I'd sure like to know where the
distinct "taste" comes from - uh, maybe not.
