Free does NOT make it better. The extra features of a full feature
recipe program is worth it.

Cook'N Favorites by DVO Software. Can be downloaded. Free to buy and
I think about $20 to buy.

A couple of free (GPL) recipe programs, Gourmet Recipe Manager and
PHPRecipeBook, are reviewed at Newsforge:

I haven't tried either program yet.
