Default Bound for the Outer Banks

We leave in the morning for a week near Corolla, NC in a lovely house
on the beach.

If anyone has any suggestions about restaurants (just in case The Hub
doesn't catch anything -ahem) or specialty markets in the area, I'd
love to hear it.

Silly of me to post this so late, but I will check tomorrow before we
leave & try to do so again by cell phone-modem & laptop (slooooow).

Have a great week, all, and I thank everyone for any help they can
provide.

Well.. the food is good at Awful Arthur's but the service has been
pretty s-l-o-w the two times I was there. I'd still go back for the
food though. (Milepost 6 across from Avalon Pier in Kill Devil Hills --

The Beach Bread Co. (MP 4.5 Highway 158) was a nice place to stop for
coffee. We actually went back as second time on our way out of town and
that was good. They have a bistro in there that we did not have a
chance to try.

Jolly Roger (Italian food) is also good (Mp 6-3/4, Beach Rd., Kill Devil
Hills).

I hope that this helps!

If you're an engineer or aerospace enthuiast be sure to make a
pilgrimage to Kitty Hawk and see the Wright Brothers museum.

If you like buildings go see some of the light houses.

No specific place, but try the local style clam chowder. It is
broth based, neat and simple. Many like complex clam chowders
with all sorts of added ingredients, but most should like this
simple soup as a change.
