Default French Dip Roast Beef Sandwiches (slow cooker dish #2)

Slow cooker dish #2

French Dip Sandwiches

http://beef.allrecipes.com/az/EasySl...rFrenchDip.asp

I used some recipe review suggestions.

The best French dip sandwiches I ever had were at Phillipe's on Alameda
St. in downtown Los Angeles. YMMV. I go there for lunch every time I
visit.

Only 6.5 hours to go. ARGH! Tick-tock, tick-tock...

This recipe states that not even teetotallers could detect beer in this
recipe???? Why in the world would anyone want to fool someone who
prefers not to take alcohol???

I just used half a can of O'Doul's. It's got something to do with the
suds action. The level of the liquid has almost doubled and it's thick
and bubbly (not bubbling).

I don't know. I make a similar recipe that goes like this:

3 lb chuck or rump roast
1 pkg onion soup mix
1 can low sodium beef broth
1 t worchestershire sauce

Tastes great and no beer for the non-drinkers.

Agreed. That's a horrible thing to do to someone, especially if they have
adverse reactions to alcohol.

I don't think a person has to give a list of ingredients to everyone who
eats what they're serving. But alcohol is a definite exception.

Carol, who'd probably prefer red wine in her French Dip

O'Doul's a good choice if you don't want alcohol. It's the malt-taste
of beer that you're looking for. Some use beef broth, wine, even
water, but the tastes all differ.
