I just want to know if there is a technical reason that the two of you,
Wayne and Goomba38, don't like this site. Is it a problem? Will it
somehow complicate what I already have on my computer? Will using this
Yahoo sponsored site cause problems for me? I would appreciate any
info please.
Thanks very much.

I have nothing personal against the site, Nancree. I simply have no interest
in recipes geared for one person. I didn't say anything critical about it,
only that there are two of us, and I don't cook for 1.

You might find it interesting.

I signed up...hopefully they are easy. I hate leftovers, except from a
restaurant....guess that says something for my cooking...or eating habits. P

Technical? I dunno? I just dislike strangers coming on posting a demand
that we check out their site. And I refuse to click urls or sign up for
antyhing unvetted.

It appears that the recipes are for 2 to 4 servings so that 1 person will
have leftovers or 2 people will have enough. Just thought I would let you
know. I looked at the recipes that were posted so far.

It seemed more like a demand to join a group rather than a request for
people who are interested in cooking to visit the group. Cooking for
one isn't the problem, the manner in which the request to check it out
was made was what was offensive to some.

Neither of those people but I prefer a newsgroup and a good newsreader.
It is faster than a web interface and I can easily filter/display stuff
any way I like and there isn't a constant barrage of ads.

Also there are probably 100,000 (with many themes dupicated over and
over)groups already on Yahoo relating to food making them hard to
follow. I like the general interest flavor of this group where there is
diverse knowledge and opinions.

I didn't read it as a demand, just exuberance.

The words were not demanding or offensive. It was the all caps
lettering that set you guys off.

Was it? I didn't even remember that. I just wasn't interested.

I joined. I'm always looking for new recipes and I can always alter them
for more than 1 or two.

I might check it out... there are two of us but I'm still kind of used
to cooking for a family of four so I usually make two meals at a time
- the only problem then is that my husband hates eating leftovers so I
have to have them for lunch!

Whoa... there is an awful lot of anger aimed at one little post about
a new Yahoo group. Sheesh. It's a new moon.
http://www.rxffish.com/moon/sep2005_moon.htm

The admission records of 18,495 patients to a psychiatric hospital in
an 11-year period: admissions for psychosis were highest during the
new moon and lowest during the full moon.

Didn't really set me off. I found it rude becaue all caps = demands and
shouting. Since I cook for 4-6 people, it didn't really interest me to
view the site.

Actually, there were THREE posts by , all of which
contained the unsolicited ad. The other two posts contained lasagna recipes
for one person.

Why would I apologise to a rude ignorant asshole? Even if I had a reason
to, just demanding that I must visit some crap site proves that the
poster is rude, ignorant and a asshole.

Have I apologized for something here and missed it?? I think anyone
looking to drum up business for a new venture ought to be nicer about
it, instead of the demand that people go to their site. It was badly put.
I can handle your thinking I've made a fool of myself. But in my eyes
your response appears way more foolish.
