party scatters

How do you use party scatters, first I thought they were for decorating the
cake, but then I realized they're not edible. Do you just scatter them
around the table?? I hope I don't seem too stupid.

Do you mean those little metallic confetti in various shapes? If so,
scatter them about the table or around centerpieces. I use them at
Chrismas around a ceramic Christmas tree.

Do you mean those little plastic cut-outs in various shapes for
anniversaries, birthdays, and hols? If so, yes, you just shake a few
in the middle of the table and put a centerpiece on top, or just use
the little shinies.

My daughter used to collect those....
