I have cancelled the third recipe of Mr. Ross Mavis ( which sf kindly gave
to me)because I have seen that he puts half flour and half milk (just like
Debbie's Recipe).
Now I Am trying again Ophelia's recipe. But now I remember to put the tins
with fat in the oven before.
Another thing that was wrong IMHO in Debbie's recipe was the big quantity of
fat (1/8 of inch IIRC) that she said to put in the tins.
All that fat rose together with batter. Batter navigated in the butter ((
Ok
This is my last attempt, after the death......of YP of coarse.

Yes perhaps too much fat, I only put a small amount of lard or oil in my
tins, and then put then in yhe oven until the pan is almost smoking, then
pour in the batter. It's surprising how little fat you really need.
Left overs are always good cold with syrup!

I don't have the recipes in front of me, but didn't he use more eggs?
I think he uses 1 egg per 1/2 cup of flour, not 1 cup. That's a big
difference!

I applaud you for making them so many times! You're a real trooper.

The important thing is the that the quantity of flour is the same of the
milk.
Here is recipe:
4 eggs
2 cups milk (500 ml, he says)
2 cups all purpose flour (500 ml, he says);
1tbs salt (5 ml, he says).

Remember that the eggs are what make it rise, that's why the
difference of 2 eggs per 1 cup of flour vs. 1 egg per 1 cup of flour
is a significant difference when the flour/milk ratio is equal.

Oh yes, thank you! I'm perfecting the cooking. Yesterday I make the 4th
attempt, better than the last. I will send other photo.
