I burned the biscuits
I wanted biscuits. I haven't made biscuits in a while. I used to make
great biscuits but somewhere along the line I lost the knack for doing it; figured I'd give it another shot. So I got out my trusty baking sheet and mixed up some biscuit dough. I gently rolled out the biscuits and put them on the baking sheet; I set the timer and then went into the other room to watch the beginning of a movie. I don't know how I got so distracted (not like I haven't seen the film before) but I didn't hear the timer go off. They *look* like they would have been good fluffy, flaky biscuits, if they didn't resemble really dark brown hocky pucks. (sigh) Maybe I'll just make some cornbread tomorrow :) No Jiffy Jill -- I used to have a handle on life...but it broke off. |

The timer I use is digital and is stuck to the fridge with magnets. I guess I could carry it with me but I don't normally not hear the beeping sound it makes. It counts down and sounds warning beeps at 10 minutes before finish and again at 5 minutes. And when it's done it beeps for 60 seconds before shutting off. I honestly don't know how I didn't hear it! (sigh) Bummer (as my kids would say). I've done that a few times, but my problem is usually falling asleep while my creation is destroyed. My solution is to bring an alarm clock with me, set to go off at the right time. A cheapie manual clock, like a Big Ben, works well and it's *loud*. Mac |

I hope that there will be no ladybug on it as there was once. :o) Good luck and let us know after your telephone call about the test, please. |

I forgot all about the ladybug on the cornbread! Thanks for making me smile, Margaret! Jill |
