Oh, I know that, and the knitters, too. I was trying to be tongue in cheek, but failed. :) I was simply pointing out that this group has been, in my experience, far more vitriolic, juvenile and argumentative than the others in which I participate (perhaps tying with another group which I no longer read, they got more personal, and this group has more of it in general), and that it didn't surprise me that someone else would find it so as well. While I have found lots of arguing and bickering and such on other groups, it seems to ebb and flow more and the perpetrators seem to change. Here it seems more constant, and there are certain people who are almost always willing to make personal attacks in a vulgar and juvenile manner. Regards, Ranee Remove do not & spam to e-mail me. I only like blended Scotch and a rather inexpensive one at that: Johnnie Walker Red. For Marcel I have Johnnie Walker Black and I usually have a bottle of Royal Salute in reserve, even though I seldom will open it. It is rather expensive and I use it only as gifts for my doctor and friend, who retired from active practice last week. At times, someone will visit whom I want to impress and then I may offer a drink of it. :o) The doctor receives five ot these bottles every year, one for his birthday in January, another one for Passover, another one for the Jewish New Year and one for Chanukkah. Where does the fifth one come in? When he was born, records were poorly kept in Jewish families who were going by the Hebrew calendar. His birth certificate shows a different date than the one his parents celebrated and if someone has two birthdays, it stands to reason that he/she wants two gifts. :o) I also have two bottles of single malt Scotch in my bar, Glen Grant and Glenforres-Glenlivet, which is probably more to your taste. Both of them are nasty, tasting smoky. Most likely I received them as hostess gifts at some time and every once in a while a guest will have a drink from one of these two bottles. Bob (this one), your post upset me so, I had to pour a drink of Scotch for myself, I whole hour ahead of Cocktail Hour. Baked Turkey thighs with mashed potatoes tonight. With another drink. MS |

To All Whose Feelings I Hurt When I Complained About Beets, sorry, but
I still cannot stand eating or even smelling them. My husband loved beets, as a salad, a vegetable or Borscht. I would make a salad for him, with cooked beets which I grated and to which I added grated horse radish, grated apple, vinegar, a pinch of sugar and caraway seeds. I would leave the whole mess in a covered bowl and drain off the liquid before serving the salad. |

As Wayne Boatright or, maybe he should be called, Wayne BoatWRONG, said,
in a whine: 'I would like to apologize to *most* of the members here on rfc for having to read my responses to Sheldon's recent attacks.' Gee whiz, how horrible that you have reached your limit, that you attempt some horrible lame excuse for being as ass. Get a grip. This IS =USENET= Can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!! I"ve probably been posting, for about 6 years. Sheldon for a lot more. Sorry, if your feelings were hurt, but == THIS IS USENET, not your local friendly group of people that you associate with on a daily basis. Actually, I've seen Bob's birth certificate and well, I'm just not at liberty to name his father right now ... ;-) Carol -- Coming at you live, from beautiful Lake Woebegon |

Best of luck in futre. Where the hell did you come from? Nevermind...who cares? Everybody has their 2¢ to add, and I'd guess that the kitty is getting pretty big. Six years of posting? My, you've been around Usenet forever! I've only been posting on Usenet since 1979, two years before the IBM PC was introduced. With a state-of-the-art CP/M operating system and a 300 baud modem, I could almost type faster than the transmission speed. AFAIC, Sheldon is a dead issue, and so are you. -- Wayne Boatwright *¿* ____________________________________________ Give me a smart idiot over a stupid genius any day. It's a cheap accompaniment to a meal or a cheap entree. This, though, does and is a similar flavor. Yeah, that's how much butter this recipe calls for.
