It was our anniversary last night, and my wife and I, for some reason, much
prefer a home cooked gourmet meal to going out. I haven't had a filet mignon in a long time, so that was my choice. I pan seared it it rare/medium rare, piled on some lump crabmeat, and poured a brandy cream sauce over it. Awesome. My wife (and I, as well), loves breaded fried oysters. So I made them, too. Also made some seasoned roasted potatoes. It seemed unlikely to work when we thought about it, but it was pretty fantastic. Anybody else want to share an unconventional dinner menu that worked out really well? Scott. |
