Default Velveeta Shells and Cheese


The magazine ads looked so enticing.

Buy a few boxes of KRAFT Velveeta Shells&Cheese.
Add a few ingredients, and get these tasty, quck dishes;
Cheeseburger Mac, Pizza Casserole, etc. etc.

I was ready for some warm, gooey comfort-food,
So, I tried the "Cheeseburger Mac"

YUK.... and YUK some more.
It turned out terrible.
None of that timeless "velveeta taste"
No amount of tweaking could coax any recognizable flavor.

and the ( alleged ) shells..... "pressed wet cardboard"

Don't fall victim to the allure of the pretty color photos.
Pass up on this KRAFT offering.

Plain old blue box macaroni and cheese (Kraft or otherwise) makes a
pretty good base for skillet casseroles, and it's at least $1 cheaper
than Hamburger Helper®. Add the dried noodles and the cheeze powder to
the browned and drained pound of hamburger meat and some sauteed onions.
Add 3 cups of water and a pinch of cayenne. Cook, covered, until the
noodles absorb all the liquid. (stir occasionally.) Stir in some
frozen peas or whatever, and grate some real cheese over the top.

It also works with chopped leftover chicken and lots of chopped vegetables.
