Default Oatmeal pancakes this morning

I had a hankering for pancakes this morning, but wanted to
try something different. I was going to have some oatmeal
porridge anyway, so I made that. Instead of eating the
porridge I let it cool a bit and added about a cup of it to
the pancake batter. They were delicious. My wife said they
were even better than buttermilk pancakes.

Dave,

IIRC, that's the "secret" ingredient in IHOP pancakes.

Yum!

Please post the recipe, both for the oatmeal porridge and pancakes.

My favorite pancake from IHOP has the addition of Cream of Wheat. It makes
a wonderful texture.

I cup of flour
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder

1 egg
1 cup milk
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 cup cooked oatmeal porridge (nice and sloppy).

Mix dry ingredients
Mix the wet ingredients.
Stir them all around and cook them in a greased hot frying pan.
