![]() Has anyone noticed that in his shows over the last few weeks he seems unnaturally smiley and upbeat? Similar to the old "Essence of Emerils" and "Emeril Live." of today. I have this theory that the Food Network thought he was too Ho Hum and suggested he modify his TV persona. Does anyone agree? Please....no "who gives a crap" responses. As a Food TV junkie, I think a good show is one where the recipes sell themselves. It's not all about the chef's personality (albeit there is lower limit there). Case in point: Emeril's recipes are great (and always have been), but because of all the showmanship and repetitive catchey phrases and sayings, I can't watch it anymore. Of course, because of the economics of Emeril, I don't expect any changes....ever. There is a lot of money to be made off people who think a home is a single story rectangle with wheels and that parmesan comes in a green can. Back to George....although I'm not overweight or on a low carb diet, it's clear to me that George has something wonderful to offer this incredibly obese society in which we live. I don't want to see it go away because of phoney smiles and unnatural hand waving. Fix his teeth and keep him the way he was. Doug from Massachusetts |
