I hemmed a pair of dress slacks and pressed those plus 4 other pairs I
hemmed over the weekend. Five more to hem and press; I'll keep you
informed, John, of my progress.

You should make at least one post after each stitch.

Hahahahaaaaaa, I'd be in a tie with John. BUT, I'd never get those slacks hemmed
if I made t.h.a.t. many posts.

:o)

I saw some stuff on TV that's a sort of glue. You just smear it on,
then iron it. No need to sew the hem. I guess it works like the old
timey iron on patches.

That type of glue has been around for years. One brand is actually
called "No Sew" and there's another brand called "Liquid Stitch."

I can't imagine that would hold up to much stress or many washings.

They will hold up to dozens of washings and thrown in the dryer, too.

Hemming 10 pairs of dress slacks? Have you shrunk?

Interesting, I might have to look into that. I feel bad passing most
all of my stitching onto my grandmother in her 80's.

Your grandmother may enjoy doing hand sewing. But personally, I'd not
use any of these glues on dress pants. It holds great, no fear of a hem
coming out, but you don't have that finished/polished look of sewn-in hems.
