I pulled out the dishwasher to see what kind of connections I needed
to replace with a new one - like if some asshole welded on the water
inlet line. Nope - copper tube screw-on w/hardwired electrical.

Then I see this little pamphlet sticking out from on top of one of
motors and I unfold it and the first thing I see is "If the motor
just hmmmmmmmmm's.:". Oh shit, you mean I may be able to fix this
damned thing?

I reached down into the sump and pulled outg a piece of plastic that
obviously been there for 20+ years, now with washed smooth edges
from water and detergent erosion. I think it was part of an orange
peeler, but not sure.

But the real culprit was probably the semi-rigid plastic EKG lead
that blocked the grinder/drain intake.

save the $700 and live with this one for another 33 years. Probably
just go buy a bunch of domains I'll never use instead.

And last year when my shower drain was plugged I pulled out one of
these style EKG leads with a coat hanger. These foam ones are a
bitch and they hide them on your body in places you can't see.

My son's new house is unremodeled 1948, except for the water line for
the fridge, and the 220 outlet they put in for the induction range. There's
no place for a regular dishwasher, but we can put in an 18" one without
trashing the original cabinetry by putting in the dishwasher to the left of
the sink. Unfortunately, we'll have to put in a cheapo dishwasher because
the good ones don't come in white. Luckily, I saved the old gas range from
the rental house next door, so I can use the wiring to put in two 110 lines,
one for the range, and one for the dishwasher. The old gas range preserves
the mid century design, and the dishwasher in white won't stick out
aesthetically.

I don't need any fancy options. I just wanted a machine that was going
to get the dishes clean, and not crap out too quickly, especially since
we're probably going to turn this into a rental after we retire. Risking
having an appliance fail in a rental when you could be thousands of
miles away at the time seems pennywise.

I had a problem with mine not rinsing well last year. I knew that you
are supposed to clean out the filter, and I thought it looked okay, but
what the heck, I would take it out and clean it again. That time I
pulled out the tube that the screen slips over. It turned out to be
almost completely clogged.

lol. Maybe that is what what slowing the drain in my shower before I
gave it a hefty plunging job. I have had more than my share of EKGs
lately, plus a sleep study. When they are all done they give you a towel
and tell you to take off the leads. No matter how carefully you look
there is usually at least one that manages to avoid detection. The worst
was the sleep test. ..... 19 leads, and then they wake you up at 5 am
and give you a couple minutes to get cleaned up and get out.

the garage in the garage that I use for showering. It really speeds

A dishsher on te kleft of the sink (presumeably underneath the
counter) plus a real vent hood, removes almost all of the
cabinetry.

Do yu have pictures of the rest of the kitchen, or is that picture
the whole thing? I've lived in Studio 8's that have more kitchen
than that. He must no be Food Snob Jr.

That stove is set in an odd place. Loss of cabinet space.
