Actually, we didn't. But what you're looking for is a

"meat mallet."

A standard rubber mallet (hammer) from your friendly neighborhood hardware store is cheaper and works just fine and is useful in your garage as well. Just don't buy and use a "dead blow hammer" on your food unless you want food splattered all over your kitchen! :-)

A rolling pin, the flat side of a cleaver or a small castiron frying pan
will all do the trick.

Apparently the people who sell them on the Web refer to them
as "meat pounders".

I can't recommend googling for that term, though.
