I used to catch them in the creek that borders our property. It had a
very clean taste, not muddy at all. Perfect fish. I stopped doing it
because it was rather gruesome. I also occasionally caught turtles
unintentionally. I started to feel like Dr. Mengele.

Eel-tailed catfish, Tandanus tandanus, an Australian variety.

Yes, probably. They're not even in the same family, which seems to
mean they're more different than cats and tigers.
