He probably can't get Jiffy Mix where he is.

Maybe not, which is why I said if you can source it. Amazon has it
here and Ophelia has it in the UK.

Fast food can be good, with fresh ingredients and no junk. But in the
West it's not easy to find.

I normally wouldn't use a pre made mix, but that is a good idea just
for trial purposes. I'll have to wait, though, as we have no oven
here. No problem when back in Australia though.

We have Jiffy brand peanut butter available in Thailand, for all I
know, they might also stock the cornmeal too. You have to go to the
few supermarkets catering to Westerners though. Fairly expensive
because of that fact.

Surprisingly, it might just be available here. We have a few Foodland
supermarkets that specialise in Western products. I know I've seen
Jiffy peanut butter on their web site... which at the moment doesn't
seem to want to load, so I can't check it for the muffin mix. And we
don't have an oven here

I'd have to check to see what has happened on this issue since then,
Ophelia. But it seems to have died down and fallen off the radar. A
lot of the farmers affected are no longer farmers because of it. I
have no doubt Monsanto still have plenty of power and influence.

I'm still waiting to see if I end up with cancer from all the
Glysophate I've had accidentally spilled on me back in the 90's. I
used to manage an avocado farm back then, a few times the backpack
sprayer would burst it's hose and I'd get covered in the stuff.
Monsanto used to claim it was totally safe, of course.

The peanut butter sold here is Jif and I don't think they have any connection
to Jiffy brand cornbread mix.

There's Jif peanut butter and there's Skippy peanut butter. As a
result, the easily confused think there's such a thing as Jiffy peanut
butter. There isn't.

Jiffy brand peanut butter and Jiffy baking mixes are completely unrelated.

Personally, I think you'd be better of baking corn muffins from scratch.

I can't remember how much I paid for the packs of cornmeal or the jiffy
boxes. I got them too long ago.

The boxes of jiffy corn muffin mix are often on sale here for
only 2-3 boxes for a dollar. Very cheap. Just add egg and milk.

I must have done that when I first bought some, but it is many years
since I did that.

Do you think the contents will still be good? And what about the packs of
Cornmeal

Box of dried stuff. Date shouldn't be an issue as long as you've
kept it dry. I just looked at my old box.

"Best if used by October, 2014" lol I'll still use it, no
problem.
Note...that tells you how often I make cornbread.
It's not all that.

LOL my Jiffy is 5/29/14 And the cornmeal is October 2015! I am
wondering (given mine are similar dates to yours) whether there was
something going here about it that we joined in with) Oh and yes, they
are kept very dry in my store

I do know D. liked them. Well, I have only two boxes of Jiffy so maybe I
will use those, and then look for recipes for the Cornmeal. I have 4 big
packs of those!

Any recipes for Cornmeal will be gratefully accepted)
