Nobody give a shit about some guy making candy in his kitchen. In the scheme of things, that's so incredibly unimportant. OTOH, thank you for paying your fair share. My guess is that the POTUS thinks yoose guys are big schmucks.

You're wealthy and you can "almost" pay off your Discover Card balance?

The banking system is making a ton off of you.

Under our tax laws I think you can go about 4 years. After that, the
IRS considers you a hobby, not a business. Mostly is is part time auto
mechanics and photographers buying new equipment and writing it off.

Renovating a house to make it available to rent to a few roomers is an
easy one for any accountant to handle.

BULLSHIT!! Every wealthy NOT FOR PROFIT corporation uses credit/debt responsibly. And I as that NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATION (if Corporations are People then conversely People are Corporations too! It's BIJECTIVE, an Identity if you will! says SCOTUS!) am using my credit responsibly!

I always make more than the Min Payment, and that helps lower my interest!

Damn I'm good! :-) No WONDER I'm wealthy!

I pay my credit cards off each month therefore I pay NO, NONE, NADA, ZIP, ZILCH
in interest. So I guess that makes me astoundingly wealthy.

I guess I don't have any serious expenses. May biggest expense is a
new computer every 5 years.

There's a certain Zen element to it. Putting all this effort into
making good chocolates and then dumping them in the bin.

I taught my kids to put computers together long ago. My son sold his 5 year old computer recently for 500 bucks. That was rather shocking to me. Also shocking is that he's built a new one. He builds gaming computers so this one is about as fast as they come. Unfortunately, he has to use Windows 10 to play games. It's seriously overpriced at 120 bucks. I look forward to the day when he will be able to forego Windows.

Paying interest is not something wealthy people do. They are paid
interest for loaning money or their deposits.

Go after the big tax dodging corporations. That would make a real
difference (and is something Sanders wants to do).

I did that in 2017, when I WAS ASTOUNDLY WEALTHY while I was renovating this house!

Now I'm merely very wealthy!

I don't blame the corporations. They are following the laws as they
should. I blame Congress for making the laws. Change them. The
problem is the congresspeople are owned by donors.

I take every deduction I can. Perfectly legal. Got a huge refund this
year too, I just followed the tax laws.

Sure there is with all the expense of getting the house in shape.
https://smartasset.com/taxes/rental-...tax-deductions
On top of the finances and responsibilities of your own living space,
you have to find tenants, secure insurance and pay a mortgage and
property taxes. Renting a home can also complicate your personal tax
situation. Luckily, Uncle Sam allows you to deduct some expenses
associated with running a rental property. The IRS stipulates that
deductible expenses must be ordinary and generally accepted in the
rental business, along with being necessary for managing and maintaining
the property.

While home improvements are deductible through depreciation, the tax
code does allow you to deduct certain repair and maintenance costs
separately. The big difference is that these efforts keep your property
in rentable condition, but do not add significant value. Think painting,
tuning the plumbing, cleaning HVAC filters, spraying for pests and
landscaping.

Yes. We should vote for politicians who are not on the take and who
want to change these things. That's not Trump and also not H. Clinton.
This problem isn't limited to the US, by the way.

Yet you're paying interest to the evil banking system. That's irresponsible.

Well maybe, but back in 1989 when my Ex and I split up and SHE walked away from all our marital debt, I went to Consumer Credit Counseling Service and they worked out a lowered repayment schedule with OUR several credit cards, and Discover was the ONLY card to drop all interest and allowed me to pay off OUR balance principle ONLY!

Which is why NOW my Discover card is the ONLY credit I use! Evil? Maybe, but more GOOD than any other credit cards WE had!! And no my use of MY credit is NOT evil as long as I manage it responsibly. A credit line is not evil, like a gun which by itself can kill. But if used IRRESPONSIBLY can kill! Guns can kill physically, misuse of credit can kill FINANCIALLY!!

The other factor, taxing corporations makes the little guy feel good
because the evil corporation is paying and they are not. No corporation
pays taxes. They pass that cost onto the customer.

If the government put a tax on wheat used in bread, people would cheer.
Then be bewildered when the price of bread goes up.

And another reason I love my Discover card! I buy my CBD oil via LazarusNaturals.com and THEY TAKE Discover as payments! And I JUST ordered another backup 120ml bottle of 1800mg CBD oil for my Cuppa Plus'!

Those price rises would be limited by competition. Corporations should
pay taxes. That has nothing to do with "the little guy feeling good".

I've seen it done many times. The government proposes a tax and the
citizen squawk about it. Then the government says, we're going to only
tax businesses, not you. The citizens are relived because businesses
have lots of money and can afford it.

So, the local gas station gets another penny a gallon, the car dealer
gets another $4 for an oil change, the coffee shop charges another
nickle a cup, but we did not get a tax increase.

If every tire shop in the country has to pay a $1 rubber tax on every
tire sold, where is the competition? They all raise prices and the
consumer pays.

Look at the auto industry. No car maker was able to sell seatbelts as
an option. Few people wanted to pay for them. Along comes a law that
every auto must have seatbelts. They put them in for free right?

I look forward to the day when he will be able to forego Windows.

The big corporations rarely dodge taxes, they just manipulate the system
with their in-house accounting team. Bernie is a Socialist with far too
many "free" deals that taxes will never cover.

If you are paying interest on credit card bills and have unpaid income
taxes that are accruing interest you are not wealthy on any level.
Wealthy people have NO debt!!!!

I pay zero interest to anyone. Banks pay *me* interest. $700+ last
month from savings alone.

The difference between maintenance and capital improvements is the
issue. Maintenance is cheap. Roof replacements, etc, are not.
