Default Dinner tonight and dinner tomorrow night (2/16/19-2/17/19)

I'm doing a shrimp Jambalaya tonight. It's rainy and gray with snow
threatening outside and a nice rice casserole will work well.
Tomorrow I'm planning fried chicken. I'm just getting ready to soak
the chicken thighs in buttermilk. I've been craving some fried
chicken. I would buy some from Popeye's or Kentucky Fried Chicken,
but apparently it has been decided that we folks close to downtown do
not like or want chicken. arrggh!
What are you doing for the rainy, windy, snowy days?

I may do some wings in the Ninja and I also need to dig in the freezer for
tomorrows dinner. Then again I might do the recipe for chicken pot pie that
is shown in the Ninja cookbook. Decisions, decisions.

Â* I'm doing chicken fried rice , with frozen egg rolls cooked in the
air fryer on the side . Gray and gloomy here also , though I don't think
snow is in the forecast . We get light freezing drizzle instead .

Yes , I'm old
and crochety - and armed .
Get outta my woods !

It's not rainy, windy, or snowy here. But it is cold and gloomy.
We had burgers are our local watering hole for lunch. Incidentally,
they've got a card on the table explaining that they won't be putting
straws in every drink, but they're available on request.

After a big lunch, we're having salads for dinner.

Tomorrow, who knows? Maybe stir fry; we've got broccoli, asparagus,
and snow peas.

It is nice to see that it is still quite light out at 5:55 pm, but it is
too cold to go out to BBQ. Our Saturday night burgers are going to be
fried. Tomorrow will be more interesting. My brother and his wife are
coming for dinner to meet our son's very serious love interest. We are
kind of hoping this is the one.

Oops... forgot to say why it would be more interesting. We have a nice
big prime rib and will be doing roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and
gravy. This afternoon I did some choux pastry baking. My wife has iced
them with chocolate icing and will fill them with whipped cream tomorrow.

I really haven't thought about dinner tonight. It's not cold here but
it's been raining for a couple of days and dull and drizzly all day.
I'm not inspired or craving any particular thing. Enjoy your shrimp
jambalaya!

Fingers crossed that when she sits down to dinner she doesn't announce she is
vegan.

We're supposed to meet my son's fiancee's family tomorrow for brunch. That ought to be real interesting. The family comes from Tennessee and she describes them as being real "rednecks." White folks are alright with me but I don't believe I've ever seen/met a genuine specimen of a redneck before, let alone a group of them. Hopefully, that gal is just pulling our legs and we'll breath a sigh of relief when we meet and greet.

Cool, you can have brunch at MacDonald's. They'll love it.

I made Pad Thai from scratch for my gardener and his GF. I had leftover
meatloaf, mashed potatoes with onions and cheese, green beans and one of the
oatmeal rolls that I made last night. I put cinnamon in them. The recipe
made a ton and most are already gone.

Am cooking brown rice now. Will probably cook beans tomorrow. Leftover
rolls, some Pad Thai and a bean soup that I pulled from the fridge. Not sure
if it has bacon or not. If not, I'll do a salad with bacon.

Pot roast for Monday with carrots, onions, green beans and potatoes.

Got some very good prices at Winco today.

I certainly would.
Hello sir. If you insist on always bad mouthing one of the
world's most popular fastfood restaurants, you might want to
learn how to spell it properly. Just sayin'

McDonalds? MacDonalds? McDonald's? Most people who eat there, don't
read or write much, so it doesn't really matter

That's the fate of a prophet.
