Very true, most times in actual use fry pans and skillets are used interchangeably. For frying I use a skillet, fry pans cause too much spatter... In fact for most frying I use a braiser. I only own one fry pan, 9", I rarely use it, it's way too small, I can't remember ever frying fewer than six eggs or two large burgers. As S. I.
