I think it was good. Tinypic does not play well on my computer. The
photo flashed on for a couple of seconds and disappeared. Then it was
just ads. If I go back again, it goes to just ads.

Well, Steve Wertz is doing that, and since he possesses a uniquely constipated mind, what does one expect...???

It is indeed. Some people will just eat the fins. Hoo boy!

Nice!
Here in Germany you only get the bones when buying a whole fish.
But with salmon, it's worth it - filet alone would cost the same, but with
the whole animal, I get the bones, the head and the fatty parts, too -
great for a raw fish platter because there's a lot of meat left!
I let the fishmonger clean, scale and filet the fish - not much work left.

Bye, Sanne.

I was surprised to see the bones in the store. They were also selling the head and skin too. Interesting stuff. I didn't get it though. I wouldn't know what to do with it.

Aren't the cheeks a good part? Or is that with cod?

For the head: https://www.maangchi.com/recipe/fish-head-mee-hoon
or https://www.maangchi.com/recipe/maeuntang (halved lengthwise,
instead of whole fish).
Remove the gills, they tend to get bitter!

The skin: dust it with a little flour and fry it in a little oil until crispy.

Bye, Sanne.

I'm not used to eating fish head - too hardcore! The fried skins sounds like a winner!

They are with salmon, trouts, lophius,...
And there's a lot of filet left at the head, too.
Lophius' cheeks are delicious - prepared like scallops, they look, taste
and feel like them IMO.

Bye, Sanne.

Lophius (monkfish) is a great fish, but I don't think I've ever been
able to buy the head/cheeks. I also haven't seen it in Australia.

Ask your fishmonger, he should be able to get the cheeks separately.
Not the whole head - the sight of it is too much for some customers. ;-D

We've seen lophius on Chagalchi (the fish-market in Busan) a few years ago -
we could have bought one for about 5 Dollars, but we planned to return to
Seoul the next day. Pity.

Bye, Sanne.

Yes They're called zeeduivel (sea-devil) in Dutch.

Same in German: "Seeteufel".

OTOH - we had so many excellent meals every time in South Korea and - since
we avoided the tourist-traps - didn't have to spend too much.

Bye, Sanne.

I believe it was Gary that said you can, but I could be wrong. I have no
idea how all of that works, but I have stopped using tinypic and use
postimage which seems quite easy to use, even for me.

If you add a tag to a Tinypic upload, most people can't change it.
If you don't add a tag, anyone can add one.

I figured out to change an existing tag but I'm no computer genius. If I
know, anyone could do it too.

Best to use the other pic hosting places and forget a stupid tag.

I do notice though...everytime Sheldon posts a tinypic, by the time I
check it out, there is always some offensive tag on the pic.

That's Steve. You know it is.
