Default Expanded flour recall

I dumped and replaced a bag in the first recall...I refuse to worry about it any more.
I don't do a lot of baking anyway, so can easily refrain from eating raw batter or dough.

Flour is one of those things that I don't have in the house often, usually
during the holidays.

I was surprised to read that. Flour is one of those thing we always
have. Just never thought different.
Tomorrow I'm baking two birthday cakes for two of my favorite people.

I don't always have it either and I try to buy small amounts. It was
different when I was making my own bread but I no longer have to do that.

I do low carb for health reasons, so I don't keep it around much at all. DH
likes store bought bread so he has that, and also desserts like cheescake
etc., or I will buy him a single serve cake from the bakery. During the
holidays from Thanksgiving through New Year's I do a lot of baking so I have
it in the house then.

I always have plenty of flour. I bake bread every week at least once.

I quit doing that. We don't all like the same kind and if we have people
over, we can go through a lot of it. I just go to the bread store now.

I don't do a lot of baking so I don't keep a lot of flour on hand,
either. I buy the small 2 lb. bags and store it in the freezer. I just
checked the best by date on the bag: 2014. I'm not worried about flour
recalls.

During the past few years I gave up baking breads and cakes. Now just
about the only baking I do is quick breads/muffins and I use Bob's Red
Mill mixes which are superb. I also discovered a local commercial
brand of bread sold in the area that I like very much, as good as any
home made, they offer a large variety:
http://heidelbergbread.com/
A couple three times a year I'll feel like baking a fancy cake with
one of my Nordicware pans so I'll buy a five pound bag of flour, but
for the rest of the year I keep a cannister Wondra in the cupboard,
works fine for cooking.

Good looking breads. You are fortunate to have a place like than
nearby. We have a good bakery for most, but not a good Jewish rye any
more.

Few years ago, my grocery store sold a nice rye bread. Not in-store
baked, it was from somewhere else. Anyway, they were super thin half
slices. Two of those were half the calories of regular bread. That's all
you need too for a sandwich. I really miss them.

I suppose I should ask/request that they bring them back.

They have a search function at their web site but I think they're only
in NY, but may serve a location near the CT border.

I've been buying sourdough rye. Toasts up super crunchy.
