It does, but you need a lot of vinegar to cover an area and it works

We can't use herbicides and pesticides for aesthetic purposes anymore
here. There are eco friendly herbicides that cost an arm and a leg. I
used cheap white vinegar with a bit of dish detergent and some Epsom
salts. Spot spray it on weeds in the morning and let the sun to the
rest. It kills the weed and the grass it touches but the grass grows
back in a week or so.

Maybe I should have been more explicit and said we cannot use Class 9
pesticides..... 2,4-d. Diazinon glyphosate. I said I use vinegar with
some salt and dish detergent

When I worked at K Mart, they hired people who burned the weeds. I would not
recommend this in a yard or flower bed and maybe not anywhere in this
drought. But it worked like a charm on things popping up by the cement wall
or in cracks in the blacktop. Not sure where they got these devices. They
had long handles and they could get a little flame at the end like a
cigarette lighter. They just went around zapping things.
