Funny thing about the importance of religion

https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/201...ds-turban.html

A judge has tossed out a case of drunk driving against a Sikh man
because he thought the police had violated the man's freedom of religion
by taking away his turban. The officer was not aware of a policy of
allowing them to keep their turbans.... though anyone else held would
not be allowed ties, belts or shoe laces.

How odd that removing an item that could possible be used to hang
oneself in a jail cell was such a violation on his religious rights when
he belongs to a religion that prohibits the use of alcohol.

There is *nothing* logical about religion!

Religion is not logical nor should it ever be. The human species has a need to believe that there is some meaning to their existence. We are programmed to do this. The truth is that humans are incapable of ever knowing the true nature of the universe. It would be as an ant trying to comprehend how high-speed internet works. :)

Sounds like the District Attorney in question needs to try his honor
in the next higher court. The law is the law! I can't believe the
Sheriff did not arrest the Judge for ignoring the law!

People all over the world have different customs but the Sheriff has
to maintain law and order in the jail.

even more odd is that ignorance of the law is no excuse for
civilians...shouldn't the police be held to the same standard

We got ants. About 20 years ago, tiny fire ants were a problem and a nuisance. They were ants that liked to bite. Thankfully they have been replaced with larger ants that don't bite. Thank you Jesus for getting rid of those that would cause us harm!

My point is that you cannot trump millions of years of evolution even with all the knowledge in the world.
