Mother's Day Dinner May 8, 2016
In memory of my mother and her mother before her, dinner will be a dish
they called "Mince". It's ground/minced beef seasoned with S&P, add a little water and Worcestershire sauce. Cook it down and serve it spooned over mashed potatoes. I haven't decided on the vegetable side yet. Alas, I don't have any small peas which would be the logical choice to serve with this meal. Jill |

Seasoned applesauce would be a good small side. Broccoli or corn would work with it. The beef mix was a favorite of a family I stayed with a few summers. Called "loose hamburger" and served with fried eggs and toast. |

So much better! :-D I just finished off some hamburger gravy with onions and celery. Alas no green peppers. But... I did find some good ones at a closing Safeway! |

This used to be on the school lunch menu every week when I was in high school, we called it Gravy Train 'cuz it looked like dog food. We all at it, though.
