15 Healthy Brownie Recipes, Because Chocolate Is So Necessary.
From the Huffington Post. If you think zucchini in brownies is unusual, how about black beans, avocado or chickpeas? http://tiny.cc/3l9bay I think I might try the black bean recipe. Graham |

And in the 80's you could buy "healthy" brownies at the grocery store. I tried some. Although the flavor was fine, they often had a weird, gummy texture to them. |

I love brownies but they are nothing but a luxury junk food that your body could do without. Great for the tastebuds though. If I want a brownie, I'll buy or make real and plain ones. Tossing vegetables into the mix is just trying to fool yourself into thinking you're eating heathy. If you want to eat healthy, skip the brownie mix and just eat the veggies that you might add. |

The occasional indulgence in something like brownies or a slice of pie or cake, no problem. But some people go overboard when it comes to recipes like this, thinking hey, it's got vegetables in it! Must be good for me, I'll eat the whole pan! I get irritated when I see all these ads on TV for the so-called "diet" systems - Nutrisystem and Weight Watchers come to mind. They go out of their way to point out all the DESSERTS you can eat. Come on, folks. Just because they sell you some faux sweet treat doesn't mean you should be eating it every day. Jill |

After a certain age, cookbooks start to feel near-useless unless you're cooking for several people every day - and, preferably, you're being helped by those people. That is, after that age, you really do have to eat tiny meals if you're trying to keep your weight down, so it hardly makes sense to spend a lot of time cooking, with multiple ingredients, when you can only let yourself have maybe five mouthfuls per meal. And forget about a daily dessert, unless it's an apple. One could argue that if you CAN stick to tiny amounts, you can eat anything you want - but who eats just one tablespoon of ice cream? Lenona. |

Gluttons think diet food will make them lose weight, and the more diet food they eat, the more weight they expect to lose! It's delusional thinking. John Kuthe... |

That reminded me of a mother and daughter<?>, both very large, ahead of me in the grocery store. They had several cases of diet pop in one cart and the other had about a dozen bags of chips. It was early in the week and there was a bunch of other groceries, so it was not likely to be for a party. I guess they thought the chips and other junk food was calorie free if washed down with diet pop. |

One of them was so obese that her stomach hung down almost to her knees (no exaggeration). So deluded! Graham |

They seem to think they are magic or something. |
