Many years ago there was an accidental shooting in Memphis, TN. The man
had a loaded pistol sitting on the coffee table. His dog knocked it off
the table and boom! It went off and the dog's owner was shot in the
back. I found the article, there doesn't seem to be a date on it:

At any rate, the guy was shot by his dog.

That is an interesting story. I am not questioning your honesty,
especially since you posted a link to the story. I am questioning the
accuracy of the report. I imagine that someone was doing something
stupid, or there is some reason the victim did not want the truth to get
out. I find it really hard to believe that the dog knocked it off the
table, that it discharged as a result of the impact and that it just
happened to fire in an upward direction striking him the back. There
are too many coincidences there.

A dog story shows up at least once a year. It all gets back to safe
keeping and safe handling and most people do not have the smarts to do
either.

I totally disagree with *most* people considering the millions of gun owners
and guns.
