Thank-you all for responding. I am relieved.
I remember getting tomato sauce in the can and seeing what I thought were maggots. Then I read how this guy sued the cannery for maggots in the tomatoes. I am traumatized.

Yes, it is disgusting. It looks like maggots and tastes like chicken
feed smells, if you get my drift. I wanted to like it because it is
so full of protein, but just couldn't swallow more than the first
Forkful.

For me it was the texture. Couldn't get past the "I'm eating amphibian
eggs" sensation.
