Very old scam, was much more common in the UK and other places, but has worked it's way to the US. Only a fool would fall for it. |

Some do... I got a call from a nearby friend who got partially caught by one of these scammers, then she got suspicious and called me. By that stage they had access to her laptop, and I was watching what they were doing, which was basically to render it inoperable by moving some system files. I unplugged the network cable and they soon called back. We told them where to go, natch. We were lucky, because it didn't take much work for me to restore it back to how it was. |

Yes, we had this a few years ago. We haven't had it for a long time ... unless it is just our number they are not calling any more;) > Only a fool would fall for it. -- http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/shop/ |
