Hawaii is a collection of islands we consider one state that's
floating 2400 miles off the mainland in the Pacific Ocean. It is
technically part of North America, but not North American in a
cultural sense. If they weren't a state they'd be considered Pacific
Islands, even by residents of the West Coast - so think of their
location in a way that makes sense to you. Pacific Islands, North
America - whatever floats your boat. They're a state and that's what
counts.

The original 13 are the hardest because their names are always stacked
up, somewhere off in the Atlantic Ocean when you look at a map. It
seems like only locals would consider that part easy.

Easy for me as I've lived there all my life. I get mixed up on the Gulf
coast. I think they moved Alabama.

Absolutely, I would have no problem with the eastern states.
I was a whiz at that state map puzzle as a little kid, but now
some of the western states are a struggle.

You know that New Yorker's view of the world poster? Makes me
laugh. Of course there's one for every city, I'm sure. I did
see one them for Boston.

I just printed out a blank map (see previous posts). Right away, I'm
still missing 7 but that doesn't mean that the others are correct.

Did you notice the part where the test timed out on me?
I know most of the states. I get a little confused with the
squarish ones out west.

Not so confused I couldn't have finished the test in
time, but I got into a RL conversation. I didn't notice
there was a clock ticking.

And took Vermont on the way home, stopping at King Arthur

I didn't even notice the timer until I was almost done... The fact
that the test was being timed should have been better indicated... the
clock didn't begin moving until after the test is started but then the
clock movement is hidden at the top of the page and out of sight. I
knew immediately I had mixed up New Mexico and Arizona but there was
no way to make the correction.

I made the same mistake with Arizona and Nevada and Maryland, but the
damage was done. I got 42 of them.... which seems to put me way ahead of
some of the Americans who posted their scores.
